Tuck Everlasting was a book that made you think about a lot of things in life. It mostly made me think of how people are always saying that we are so busy in life and that they wish life was longer so that they could get to do so many things. Tuck Everlasting made you realize that living forever isn’t what people think that it is like.
The Tucks accidentally drank water that made them live forever. They didn’t think anything of it at first but then as time went on, the lost family and they got bored with life. They couldn’t tell anyone or else people would start experimenting on them to see if they actually could really live forever. Imagine if the stranger got to sell the water and he was a real person on earth. He could sell it and make lots of money, but think of all the destruction that would happen. Banks and people would always be getting robbed and if you got caught there would be no real punishment for it. Sure, maybe 100 years in jail but if you are going to live forever that’s not old at all. Also if they fought against the police or ran away they could be shot at because they would feel no pain and would not be affected. There would be no control over people who have sick minds.
Overall, I think that it is a good thing that we only live as long as we do. Also, this is God’s plan. If he wanted us to live forever on earth today, we would live forever on earth today.
